Black Ops and Interested Parties: Yes, Think Mossad

Sorry for those who are under the belief that weaz is a consiracy theorist, but sorry to break the news to you, but conspiracies happen. And the major media is reporting the assassination of Pierre Gamayel, and of course will blame Hezbollah. But what does Hezbollah have to gain? First off, they were amazingly successful in fighting off the Israeli army to a standstill, and despite the numerous civilians killed, were, as weazl noted, placing pressure on the Sinora government to step down through mass protests. Why would Hezbollah want to disgrace itself by ordering an assassination when engaged in peaceful polical activities after having wages a successful military assault. Namely, it wouldn't. Who, on the other hand stand to gain by such a killing. Israel and the US, of course, who can look to this as anther excuse to intervene into the country. Wayne Madsen, former intelligence officer, has reported that the Mossad was involved in the Harriri assassination, which they and the US effectively blamed on Hezbollah, thus forcing the exit of the Syrian army and paving the way for the summer invasion. And people might not remember the farce of jurisprudence set forth by the United Nations to investigate the Harriri murder, encapsulated in the Mehlis report, setting off protests.

In short, when things don't go well diplomatically or militarily, look to intelligence operations to try to intervene. This clearly is an assassination, and the question is to assess who is incentivized by such a killing and who takes advantage of it. Clearly, weazl expects the US and Israel to take the lead on this.

Duck, you always have to ask yourself: who stands to gain?

When Israel is blamed for an assassination like this, we always see the accsations of anti-semitism flying. "Blame the Jews for everything just like Hitler did". I certainly don't blame "the Jews" for anything. But the Israeli governmenet is another matter. Why is it so hard to belive that the Israeli government would assassinate a person in lebanon for its goals, when the Israeli government has sponsored assassinations of Jwish people in Arab countries to get to scare them into leaving their Arab homes. Before you think this is some neo-Nazi anti-semitic conspiracy, you should know history. This actually happened. It's called the Lavon Affair, for Lavon, the minister who planned it and was discussed at length by Moshe Sharrett, Israeli prime minister, in his published diaries. You can read about it in a book by Livia Rokach

So if the Israeli government can sponsor the killing of Jews for its purpose, why not kill some Christian minister for its purposes.

Those who like to dig deepr into history may be interested to know that Pierre Gmayel's grandfather, who he was named after, started his career by forming a Hitler Youth group. And the greatest achievement of the Phalange, created by the elder Gmayel, is a Nazi-like genocide of civilians in Beirut in 1982. You can read all about that and the involvement of Israel in al of it, it's important to read the Kahane Report, an independent investigation by Israel that found Sharon personally responsible:
