Democracy's Revenge

Democracy won.

Yes, weazl has been howling to the moon about the falling sky, and has never been so happy to be wrong. Not only have Democrats won the House, but seem poised to take over the Senate as well, though the most powerful man in Congress might be now Connecticut's Joes Lieberman.

As weazl has noted earlier, however, the biggest win of for Democrats has been ridding Ohio of Ken "one man, no vote" Blackwell. He is perhaps the person most responsible for the Moron's Grand Theft Ohio, and if Ted Strickland can simply restore democracy by re-enfranchising voters before the 2008 elections, the midterm elections will be a huge success going forward.

It does seem like people have been spurred to action. And let's hope so. The top two priorities (unfortunately Iraq WILL NOT really be on the list, at least directly) will be to investigate the MANY crimes of this administration, and to work to ensure freer and fairer elections the next time around. No matter what happens, even if the Dems win both the House and the Senate, can they proactively write really good laws that they can expect the Moron to sign. The Moron has used only one veto, if the Dems come strong, then that number will increase.

Weaz is pleased. Ken Blackwell is a big victory (in his loss). Yeah, there are problems in AZ and in CO, but the Ohio governor is hugely important.

And that Rick "man on dog" Santorum is done is pretty sweet. Looks like a bit of semblence is coming out of this election, as the voters have asked that the adults take of the job for a while. Two years of a moron left, but seems like the Rethugs couldn't pull of the theft that they needed.

It is now time to challenge this President. The world is truly now a safer place. And if the Democrats can control the Senate then the judiciary can finally start appointing judges worthy of their name. With the massive sweep of the governors' houses across the country, the most important thing on the state level is to ensure that the integrity of voting process is safe and secure.
