This statement made by Ba’ath party about the spreading rumors of an attempt to assassinate Saddam.
The Iraqi Ba’ath Party issued a statement saying that the American forces are full responsible for the safety of Saddam Hussein at a time when rumors spread in Baghdad that Saddam will be executed or assassinated, in the statement:

Exactly, which is why he must die. To allow him to win a democratic place would just show how completely ass backwards this war to "remove a viscious dictator and create a democratic Iraq" really was.
