Jenin, West Bank (AHN) - Palestinians living in the northern West Bank town of Jenin were almost struck by wayward Hezbollah missiles Wednesday, but saw the near-disastrous incident as cause for celebration rather than concern.
Hezbollah fired over 150 mortars shells and rockets into northern Israel throughout the day, with several long-range projectiles landing in open areas just outside Jenin.
The strike, which was presumably targeting the nearby Israeli town of Afula, marked the furthest south Hezbollah weapons have ever reached.
Local Palestinians, however, expressed little concern for their own well being, as they celebrated Hezbollah's ongoing aggression against Israel.
A Fatah activist told Ynet that Jenin's residents cheered loudly as they watched one of the flaming rockets fall nearby. "Even if it were to fall on our heads, it wouldn't have spoiled our joy. All of us here are praying for Hezbollah's success and victory," he said.
The Palestinians see the unabated Hezbollah barrages as evidence Israel is being defeated by the Iranian-backed Lebanese terror group.
