'Hezbollah chief does not lie'

Occupied Jerusalem: The Israelis are now in a "state of fear and panic" after realising that the Hezbollah is a tough nut to crack.

A resident in Tel Aviv admits they are now on alert every time Hassan Nasrallah makes a statement, because evey time the Hezbollah leader speaks, air raid sirens are sounded off signalling Israelis to head for the bomb shelters as Katyusha rockets are soon expected to head their way.

"All these precautions means the Israelis are in a state of fear and panic," said Ehod, 35 who is from Tel Aviv.

"We take Nasrallah's words very seriously, and this makes us very tired. I hope he is not saying the truth this time," he added.

Already, the mayor of Tel Aviv has asked Israel's civil defence to open up bomb shelters and put ambulances on alert.

"The issue is not believing Hezbollah, or not.

"We do not trust anyone save for the Israeli army, and we only depend on ourselves. It is only that I believe we should be ready for any probability in this war. We have seen many surprises, up until now," Mayor Ron Kholdea said.

Samedar Shilone from Yadout Ahranout said that the "real dilemma in this war and in Israel stems from Hassan Nasrallah's personality, for he is the only Arab leader who is very popular, even with Israelis. I have spoken to psychologists, politicians, experts and journalists, and we all tried to find one fault in this man but failed to do so."

"We tried to find a point we can exploit to ridicule or belittle him, like we did with Saddam Hussain, but again we failed," she added.

"Saddam had a golden bathroom, we can deal with that, it is funny. But Nasrallah is not funny, he is not loud, and his speeches are calm, he is organised and does not lie. How can we make fun of that?"

Amos Malka, the former military intelligence head in the Israeli Army, said, "We have been following Nasrallah from the very beginning, we collect all the information available about him, no matter how small or trivial, and we can say that he has been able to create an aura around himself. He seems truthful, which worries us in Israel. He is also embarrassing Israelis when he states facts that we do not declare, making us look like liars, that is why I understand why the Israeli army leaders want to destroy him soon.
