Venezuelan president arrives in Tehran

Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez, heading a high-ranking political and economic delegation, arrived in Tehran on Saturday.
Upon his arrival at Mehrabad International Airport, on the fourth leg of their visit to Iran following their tour of Russia, Belarus and Qatar, President Chavez and his entourage including Venezuelan Oil Minister Rafael Ramirez were welcomed by the Minister of Industries and Mines Ali-Reza Tahmasbi.
During his stay in Tehran, Chavez will confer with high-ranking Iranian officials on bilateral, regional and international issues.
This is the fifth visit of President Chavez to Iran during his presidential term.
The Venezuelan president will be officially welcomed by his Iranian counterpart Mahmoud Ahmadinejad in a ceremony to be held at the Presidential Office.
