Okay, da weaz knows there've been precious few laughs over here (except in the comments section ;-). So pull up a chair, put on your headphones or turn up the speakers, make sure you have Macromedia's Flash, and click here to watch "HA HA HA America".

I watched the video on the Chinese economic explosion.

Hoping to see Rome crumble into ashes, Weazl laughs. As a non-professional diagnosis,it is my opinion that you are deeply infected with paranoid thantopsis generated by necrotizing Oedipal rage. What in g-d's name has twisted you to the point of desiring national, and therefore, your own, death? You rageful people amaze me.

First of all, There are no more Communists in China. Only Mercedes salesmen who have read Mao. If you want Communists you have to go to the Faculty Lounges at Harvard or Yale. The booming economy in Asia will produce an enormous competitive center for the United States, but also a brand new market. In addition, it will bring a liberalization (that's the real liberal, putz.) of the social structure as the Chinese begin to realize that a paid, at will, work force produces more effectively. Effective production produces profit. The control of profit though collective bargining gives the workers the leverage to demand civil rights. It is the totalitarian communist juggernaut that is dying...Not democratic freemarket governments.

My question remains: What madness posseses you to have such hatred for the best country, with the best political system, that has ever existed? We have put our wealth, our blood, and our safety on the line for the freedom of others for two hundred years...And you wierdos call it "empirical aggression". We haven't taken one square inch of land in that process, except to bury our dead.

In two hundred years of history we have made some mistakes, and we have been forced to take some drastic measures, but we have always operated for the betterment of mankind. You ingrates assemble a catalogue of our mistakes, some of which are not misktakes, and ignore the absolutely wonderful history of the one country out of all of them that has kept the world free of tyrants.

Father haters. That's what you are. You have carried your neurosis into your political life and you have niether the courage nor the insight to restrain your inapropriate behavior. You were demeaned in your childhood, and your rage is an attempt to heal your broken personality. The rest of us see your sickness, and we are sickend by you.

Doc, moving beyond your silly little pseudo-psychological suggestions and summaries, I ask you to move beyond the ideological prosletyzing and go to economics 101. A highly paid workforce does not increase profits, it reduces it. Input costs, whether human labor or capital investment, increase costs of production, and when China's "powerhouse" tranforms its monetary currency to that which is more comparable to Western economies (hence the Yuan's value increases), labor costs will rise and simply result in pressure to shift manufacturing to other low cost markets, such as India or Africa. In short, it's a race to the bottom, where can you find the cheapest, least regulated workforce sufficiently educated and docile enough to produce reliable manufacturing goods.

Collective bargaining may result in increased rights if the market has no or limited options. But in a globalized market, it simply serves as an add-on to labor costs, and more pressure to find a comparable workforce with no such capacity. Such is the nature of free-market captalism. I didn't make the rules, doc, but I know them. ;-)

The psychological aspect of Leftist politics is the most important. I am facinated by the suicidal nature of the Left. You are, intentionally or not, allied with the most evil of the political constructs in modern history. All of them! It is as though I walked into a room full of people hitting themselves in the head with hammers, and vehemently blaming me for their discomfort.

You guys don't have a clue. You side with the enemy in every choice. That is not rational! That's not even logically possible. There is something horribly twisted in your personality that you should address.

As for your take on recompense for services rendered, you are just wrong. A well paid worker simply performs better than a poorly paid worker.

It is part of the collective delusion that includes workers perfoming for the love of the system that is so foolish. That impossiblity is what caused the Communist system to fail. Humans don't function that way. In fact, organisms in general don't function that way. It is the rule of survival that effort has to produce satifactory rewards.

The Soviets used to say "You pretend to pay us. We pretend to work". The 1\2 acre that the collective farmer was allowed to tend privately produced more crops than the 100 acres that he was forced to till.

In 1916, one year before the Revolution, the grain fields in Russia and the Ukraine produced the single largest grain harvest in history...To this day! And they did it with horse drawn equiptment! From 1917 on, it was almost impossible to get a loaf of bread in the Soviet Union...Even in the grain farming regions. Tell me that collectivism works.

The collective system rather quickly developed a highly grafted underground economy which was the only functioning segment of the Soviet economy. In fact, the only product that Marxism ever produced in abundance was graft.

Your understanding of economics is quite flawed. It is true that overpayment of labor is finanacially debilitating. It is also true that underpayment is debilitating. Additionally, when management turns a profit, the tendency is to try to sustain, or increase that profit. When it is determined, because of labor strikes or just good business practise, that wages should be increase, they will be increased. It is better to pay a good wage then to have your workers pretend to work, or, worse yet, to steal from your business.

The French, who are the worst products of the European Socialist delusion, are experiencing labor riots right now. The workers don't want management to have the right to terminate their employment. They do not want to be held accountable for their job performance. Consequently, the French economy is horridly inefficent because their work force is lazy, underpayed, and over taxed.

Your concept of capitalism is antique. Screwing the worker is passe. Of course, there will always be a conflict between labor and management on that issue. That is a healthy situation. The power of the worker, which Marxism never achieved, moderates the greed of management. The power of management keeps wages in check. There could never be that conflict in the communist system. Unless you wanted to spend a protracted amount of time in the Gulags.
