Foley, U.S. House will not give up computers
WEST PALM BEACH (AP) -- The Florida Department of Law Enforcement says neither former U.S. Representative Mark Foley nor the House will let investigators examine his congressional computers.
The agency says that has hindered their investigation into the Florida Republican's lurid Internet communications with teenage boys.
Foley resigned from Congress amid an Internet teen sex scandal.
A spokeswoman with the agency says investigators have requested to review federally owned computers that Foley used while in office, but U.S. House of Representatives would not release the machines.
The spokeswoman says the House claims the computers are considered congressional work papers, and that only Foley can release them for review.
