For Those Who Think Europe Doesn't Harbor Racism

Well, Soc, I think there are events at which white people play in Africa, and I'm not sure the same thing happens.

And I'm not sure that it happens in Latin American countries, though Argentina does stick out as a place where it easily could.

Anyway, I don't feel particularly sorry the for soccer players, who are millionaires, but rather think it says more about the gullability of some to adopt manufactured identities.

First off, I never said racism can be done away by legislation.

Second, while I believe that we all are socialized in ways that make us all racist, the degree matters. We all may tell lies, for example, but the magnitude of lies matter. Nobody lies like the Moron, and his lies leave a wake of dead bodies.

So sure, we all have our inner racist, but does that mean that in every stadium people should be goosestepping, or waving Nazi salutes because of a black soccer player? I hope not.

And I may be naive, but that's okay too.

Hope yer havin' fun.
